Jean Paul Gaultier X Kylie

Brief:

A self-initiated project to redesign Jean Paul Gaultier “Flowers” S/S23 campaign immersing the viewer into the augmented reality world. Exploring the vast universe of Maison Jean Paul Gaultier and drawing inspiration from its 2000s archives to design.

Key Insights:

Jean Paul Gaultier's collections were strewn with flowers throughout the early 2000s.

For this collection, Kylie Jenner transforms into a futuristic mermaid character, in a virtual-reality universe with floral references and optical stripes.
They collaborated with artist Jean-Vincent Simonet to create a new “liquid” print dubbed “Fleurs Liquides.”

The Idea:

Experiment with my visual identity, developing posters using collage of florals from the designs while adding alternative flowers from their ‘Flower Power’ fabric.

Outcome:

A series of three posters which communicate an immersive new augmented aquatic universe to promote the new collection.

Visuals of the poster advertisements in magazines and on billboards.
